A friend from the local RC club has a machinery shop, so he was able to
mount wheel axles to the axles of the DeWalt 960 drills.
The whole thing was done from readily available hexagonal steel rod, turned to
become an axle with a dia. of 17 mms. The drill's little axle is screwed inside
the longer drive axle. The round part of the axle will be held on a series
of ball bearings 17 mms diameter. The drive wheel (dia. 93 mms) , seen here on
plotted CAD drawings, is engaged from the hexagonal part of teh axle, and two
rods, I just hope that the 4 mm thick steel screw that pins together the
drill and the drive axle won't snap!
