My tensioning setup, (works well).

Update Dec 2008:- Thin mild steel L brackets suffer under the constant strain, and tear during the October revolution in Essex UK , why do so many components wait until a battle is underway to break ?

A much chunkier and galvanised replacement.

My first generation axle and tensioning system. I made this axle out of 8mm, 8mm likes to bend, as it did after about 30 feet of driving .so I made a new one out of 12mm . 12mm is the minimum I recon.

Update:- Dec 2008 The tension axle of T051 consists of 2 No 12mm bolts held together by a 14mm steel tube. Over time (and frequent impacts) the 14mm tube has bent a little causing the tension wheels to run out of line. This I think was the main reason why T051 has been shedding tracks.

A whole new set-up was in order. A half inch axle from an old golf trolley two new wheels.

Suspension arm setup, 10mm bolts held by a nut cut in falf , tightened with expanding glue on a 6x20x90mm bar, this has worked very well and shows an alternative to welding

A typical "make it up as you go along" design was used for the motor gearbox (drills) housing. It looks a bit rough and it is, but it works

Until a UK target tank comes on the horizon I`ll be using the batteries that come with the drills ( all 1.3ah of them )Thats long enough to show any stray neighbor ,family member or innocent passer by what I`ve been doing all winter

This entire build has seen constant reshape ,refit ,remake redo, re-a-line, re pull your hair out and start again, all of which make dust.things got a little easyer when i bought a cheep dust extraction system
