StuG commander Ernst Krüger showing the new grey tracks on his assault gun. These tracks are even lighter compared to the earlier blue ones and complete the 'Kursk 1943' outfit. Placing all sorts of swastikas and German markings will not make me popular in this country so I think I'll stick to applying a vehicle number only.
It is operational now but since there is no one to battle with yet I'll do some modifications on the suspension (bogies, like on the T028) and an easy removal system for the gun in favour of battery replacement. Also, with summer temperatures the SSR's overheat after about 30 minutes of intense driving so I need to do some heatsinking and/or drill vent holes in the hull.

Earlier this year, after the tank was published in the newspaper, the army offered me a tank ride in a Leopard 2 A6. So last week we loaded the T028 on the trailer and went to the barracks for the ride. It was excellent to be in a tank after so many years (I was a conscript back in '93). The newspaper photographer was also present again and made some nice shots. The article photo wasn't printed but the experience was cool!
