The SU-76 (Samokhodnaya Ustanovka 76) was a Soviet self-propelled gun used during and after World War II. The SU-76 was based on a lengthened and widened version of the T-70 light tank chassis. Its simple construction made it the second most produced Soviet armoured vehicle of World War II, after the T-34 tank. Crews liked the vehicle for its simplicity, reliability, and ease of use.

It's been nearly 10 years that I was wondering of making a paintball tank... I have look after 100 of tanks to built, made 100 of scales plans, make some small testing and then a year and a half ago I made the descision to get seriouly into the tank engineering. I order parts(bateries, motor, bearing , suspension, electronics), start to learn cad design, put few dozens hours of design on a tank and even post somes parts I did built for it on the mailing group. Sadly my design was going more and more complex and I was not able to see the ends of it, so I decide to choose a simple no-turret tank with a boxy shape and try to keep it as simple as possible...

All the hull is made out of aluminum 1/8inch. and 1/16inch. thicks cut on a CNC 3 axis machine at the shop I'm working rigth now. You can see a first dry fit after all the main part have been cut!

Nice look on my freshly arrive 350watts scooter motors(MY1016z3)and the batteries(2x 12volt 18amp/hours).

No worries about space for the paintball...! That what I was thinking...!!

Since I'm working in a machining shop I was able to CNC machine aluminum master for my project.

With a lot of new technology around 3d printing was a good option to make sprocket and tracks pads master.
