I worked out the track pad spacing from the drive wheel and marked out multiples of on a piece of straight timber . The process was to glue and screw the pads together through the belting as accurately as possible. |

I decided on my own design of scarf joint on this occasion , when finished the track was very strong and people are hard put to find the joint. |

Every pad was countersunk. |

One track done . I calculated I needed 57 track pads but I didn’t like that so I built a track with 58 pads coz 57 sounded wrong to me. I later found that this affected the ground clearance quite a lot , the ground clearance on this tank is shall we say , ample !
Maybe I should have made 56 track pads. |
