It's not always how fast you can move, but how accurate you can shoot.

The new brain for the Comet. We are using the Anvilus mixer and SSR's. The box is made from plastic wood,a necessary requirement for Anvilus electronics. LOL. Far left, black velcro strip for the receiver battery. Next,Anvilus board ,then both SSR's. Finally a large cooling fan and heavy duty terminal strip.

As you can see the parts are raised up to minimize damage and provide passages for cooling. The SSr's are mounted onto cpu heat sinks and fan assemblies. The area above the mixer is where the receiver will be mounted. This entire setup will occupy the area that became available by switching to the M1's.

The box makes for easy removal of the entire controller and will also provide protection for the system when a screen is placed to keep out wayward pieces of metal.

April 4,2008 Here we have a totally portable M1 powerplant.The side by side configuration is 11 3/4" wide x 9" long and 5" high.Clean, compact and ready for installation.

APRIL 17, 2008 Hull freshly painted and awaiting the components from the preceding photos.

Two hours later and BAM, Comet is on the prowl soon. All electronics tested out fine. Of course had top do some fiddling to get the forward,reverse controls setup the way I wanted ,but that's all part of the game. Reverse the dip switches on the Tx and switch the servo leads out of the Rx and voila, c'est manifique.

All ready for the Green War.

August 2008, The evolution continues. The Green War Battle brought to light some areas in need of improvement. One was that the motors needed an easier way for me to make adjustments. Hence mounting them to a beautiful piece of aluminum. Now I can just unbolt this assembly from the chassis if I need to add any spacers.
