R/C Tank CombatSummer SkirmishBattle #1 Summaryby Neil Rochford |
Plunderers from the North The members of the "C3" and the specialised fortified building construction company, the "Palmer Alliance Ltd" had known for some time as to the dates of the Summer Skirmish, however, themselves and the general population of Chelmsford were in for a shock as to the sledgehammer blow level of violence about to land on their doorstep. The FTF and the "Free Arundel Transport Services" were setting up home base on a "nice flat bit of lawn" that they had found just north of the city. Although an American Jeep SV012 made a surprised defection to the other side, the FTF leader hardly raised an eyebrow. There was some disappointment when a message came through (believed to be of Dutch origin) that a much valued veteran of the hobby was not going to make the battle and had already cashed and spent the money (allegedly frittered away on horizontal refreshment and the likes) sent in good faith only a few days earlier. In anger the great FTF leader simply gunned down a few of his unluckier crew members who were standing near by, then instantly started to feel much better. Nervous laughter could be heard in the ranks as the battle table was once again pondered over, the little tank shaped pieces jumping to the blows of his mighty fist. The plan was simple - kill, destroy, flatten and, wherever possible, make a big mess. T051 and T068 were sent in ... the carnage that followed was previously unimaginable in the UK. The leopard closely followed by the Marder smashed through every obstacle, destroying everything in sight. It was great. Only light rain brought any relief to the forces of the South.
