R/C Tank CombatPOW RescueBattle #2 SummaryJohn Pittelli |
BackgroundThe second battle was conducted with the same scenario, with sides switched for most battlers. Since the Jeep didn't perform well in the first battle, the partially completed Semovente made its debut as the supply vehicle in the second battle. It performed admirably even at 12 volt power, with plenty of power to navigate the battlefield, albeit at a slow speed. (Editor's Note: Slower speeds for supply vehicles makes for a more exciting scenario for all players.) The sides were as follows: Jailers (aka. Col. Klinks Crew) Will Montgomery (T026), John Pittelli (T079), Justice Hendrickson (FA003) Rescuers (aka. Norris-Stallone Associates) Frank Pittelli (T001), Joe Sommer (T010), Paul Pittelli (T077), Alex Hendrickson (T100)
Battle ReportDespite repeated and sustained attacks on the jailers, the rescuers were never able to rescue any of the POWs. On one occasion, they were able to pick up one of the POWs, but then the supply vehicle operator (Alex) failed to stay away from the Jailers and was destroyed while enroute. On other occasions, the supply vehicle ventured out without support from the Rescuer heavy armor and got sent back to main base to wipe off paint. At some point, the Hetzer had a controller problem, making it a 2-on-2 battle that was basically a draw. After 40 minutes, the battle was called. Once again, no rescues were accomplished, but the rescuers squeeked out a victory because of a slight edge in destroying enemy assets.
