R/C Tank CombatOlympIainBattle #3 Summary |
FrustrationIn the first team, called "Bang Tidy":
On the other team, called "Can Also Cook":
Due to mobility problems T051 was resigned to a field artillery for the second time in its distinguished career. Mr Gaskell was given a patch of grass popular with the local wildlife and stinging nettles on the other side of the shed to where Mr Palmer was well routed. Trusty T051 was perched on top of two milk crates for better elevation this left Mr Gaskell in such comfort that he felt happy to sit down (in the patch popular with local wild life, including next doors dog). On the other side of the battle field "Can Also Cook" was moving in for the kill. The situation was two tanks versus two artillery units. T068 was having mobility issues of its own, full forward was nothing of the sort, only short jerky movements that seemed to improve after the Marder had rested for a while. As been said before these 2X25 Sabertooths ESCs are not suited to large scale vehicles in the long term. T055 was preforming perfectly as per normal and its new turret is very impressive in aesthetics and in the purpose of changing a Co2 capsule. However anyone who has used T055 in combat will know its limitations. Due to its 50 cal paintballs small size, they cannot be seen in flight and don't always break on impact, this fact tends to force the driver into close range combat thus loosing the advantage of using cover behind building and barricades. Possibly the most frustrating aspect of combat with T055 is the elevate control. Even though this is done on a joystick the operator has 3 positions - high, level and low. If you can't hit the target with any of those options, move closer and fire again. |
