R/C Tank CombatNegotiationsBattle #4 Summaryby Vern Dernberger |
Battle PreparationThe last battle of the weekend would be a "Battle Royale", with all tanks fighting for themselves, free to form and break alliances throughout the battle. Such conflicts are generally fast moving, pretty intense and full of cat and mouse games as each battler tries to figure out if the tank behind them is friend or foe. As in the previous battle, it would be an all-tank affair. The following attendees participated in the battle: Frank Pittelli (T001), Joe Sommer (T010), Will Montgomery (T026), Marty Hayes (T039), Steve Tyng (T040), Doug Conn (T058), Paul Pittelli (T077) John had to leave early for a meeting with the Vegas Alliance and Mike decided that the starter motors in the S-Tank weren't going to survive another hour long battle, so he started packing up for the long trip home.
Battle ReportEditor's Note: Need additional details from battlers who attended the battle. Although it's hard to tell from the score summary, individual battlers clearly had their personal preferences when it came to selecting targets. Doug's Tiger received a lot of attention from Frank's Tiger, while Paul's Pz II was busy going after Marty's Comet. Joe's Hetzer was staying out of trouble, for the most part, getting killed only once (by Will) and helping to kill Frank's Tiger and Will's SU100. As usual, Steve spread the wealth around when it came to destroying other vehicles, including everyone except Joe and Doug (perhaps an alliance had formed). Steve's Cromwell was in turn killed by Frank's Tiger, Will's SU-100 and Paul's PZ II (which were definitely in an alliance). Overall, Will earned the most points and Marty gave away the most points on his first day battling the Comet. Fun was had by all attendees and the event was declared a success.
