R/C Tank CombatNegotiationsBattle #2 Summaryby Vern Dernberger |
Meeting PreparationAfter a very nice BBQ lunch prepared by Joe/Paul's Catering Service, a couple of electronic repairs were undertaken. The receiver/servo battery on John's PzII lost a cell, resulting in sporadic operation near the end of the first battle. Equiped with a pair of cutters, some tape and a couple prayers, Frank jumped in and re-routed power from the over-thruster crystals to the franistant and claimed that it "should work". After a couple basic tests, John felt confident enough to give it a try. With T001 still crippled from the morning battle, Joe Sommer was high-fiving everyone and hooting like he had won the lottery. You see, the Hetzer (T010) has been neck-and-neck with T001 for the Most Battles Fought, lagging behind by just one battle. With T001 out of commission, T010 would gain a share of the coveted longevity prize. And, if Frank didn't fix the T001 by Sunday morning, T010 would claim top honors all by itself. (Basically, both Frank and Joe are too lazy to retire their aging vehicles and build new ones.) For the first time ever, Frank would operate the Navarrone Gun during an entire battle. The scenario chosen for the second battle was "General and Wife". The General and his Wife would be placed in open areas around the village. Each team would have one artillery piece inside the town, as well as their mobile assets and one supply vehicle. The goal was to capture both the General and his Wife, and transport them on separate vehicles to home base. The "Mississippi Marauders" committee consisted of the following attendees: Joe Sommer (T010), John Pittelli (T079), Mike Mangus (T081), Frank Pittelli (FA003), John White (SV015) The "The Graduates" committee consisted of the following attendees: Will Montgomery (T026), Steve Tyng (T040), Paul Pittelli (T077), Ryan ??? (T058), Zack Johnson (FA007), Doug Conn (SV014)
