R/C Tank CombatMoors MarderesBattle #2 Summaryby Neil Rochford |
Supply linesThe teams selection became very simple, he who still had a working tank against the other bloke still with a working tank. Team FTF: Neil Rochford controlling the Leopard (T051) Team P&P: Phil Palmer controlling the Locust (T055) Causing trouble was: Pete Arundle controlling the Valentine (T073). The Valentine was supplied by Aaron Lee controlling the Jeep (SV012) and Tony Andrew controlling the Marder (T068). Claire Andrew continued to make a fine camera girl, but not a very assertive contest director. For this battle the Locust and the Leopard had to option to "hire" the Valentine for a short while, this was done by landing a hit on one of the supply vehicles, this action astonishingly turned the supply vehicle friendly so when it reached the vVlentine, its ammo was earmarked for shooting at the opposing team. All other rules applied. The main problem with this scenario is the Valentine operator didn't always go to the trouble of notifying other players which side he was currently batting on. The Leopard commander soon took the "just shoot at anything" approach, just to be on the safe side ... shoot first, argue about why you're shooting at who later. Knocking out the Valentines crew was very difficult due to its dwarf soldiers hidden behind the operator's legs. As the battle raged on assets continued to break down, the Jeep followed by the Locust. Only T051 was still fully operational after two hours of battling. |
