R/C Tank CombatFall Brawl 2006Battle #3 Summary |
|
The "Defend the Village" scenario is perhaps the most popular battle scenario and this battle
proved why. With three artillery pieces in the village and two supply vehicles bringing them
ammo, the defensive position was well established for both sides. Nonetheless, both teams came
within a few shots of clearing the village of defenders. At one point, the Hares had two tanks with
three hits on each, with the Turtles pushing hard into town. However, the Turtles couldn't kill
the remaining tanks before reinforcements arrived. Similarly, when the Turtles were defending, they
were down to only a few tanks, when the entire Hare force pushed into the town for a last minute
assault. After taking out the artillery and all but one tank, the SU-100, the Hares fell
short of total victory when the calvery arrived in the form of the Cromwell and Hetzer.
The evenly matched forces are clearly reflected in the scores, which result in a tie. The Hares scored one extra hit, but the supply vehicles made one extra run for the Turtles. Frank's Tiger and Chris' T34 made a strong showing for the Hares, while Joe's Hetzer and Steve's Cromwell scored heavily for the Turtles. Amir's T34 performed extremely well as a fixed artillery piece (perhaps Amir can function better with only a couple things to control) and scored enough points to give his T34 a net-positive first outing. |
