while i was out today, i looked at home depot for something to use for a
shim on the road wheel axle, but found nothing to my liking nor that fit nicely
onto the bolt.
I ended up going to the hobby shop and bought 5 pieces of 11/32" brass
tubing and 5 pieces of 3/8" to slip over that. I plan to solder them together by
drilling holes into the 3/8 and let the solder flow onto the 11/32 as when i cut
them to length, i don't expect to be able to solder them on the very ends.
these two pieces combined make a nice and sturdy spacer that i can cut to
length as need be.
Now that I have that part just right, i can now get ready to mold the road
wheels, but wait, there is the track guides i now need on my track links, but
may need to make a small change to the rear of the wheel.
I also plan to remove about .010" on each side of the track links
for a slightly better flex.
now after all of this, i plan to charge ahead and start casting parts for
my new track system!
come to think of it, i might not need to make any fixes to the road
wheel........... but i need to check it first............
