Last time I posted I think I said I was going to take a week to borrow a
camera and take some photos, as per usual you say something like that then
get incredibly busy so excuse my delays.
Still donıt have a new camera yet but thought to manage with an olde video
camera and take some stills from that.
First 4 pics are from my M41 showing how I set up the compensator, its got a
built in track tensioner which is accessed from the front. (third photo
between body and track)
And what I am pleased about with this mech is that its made of recycled
parts, no machining required here, shafts from drills and angle grinders
with pieces from a uni joint.
Anyways enough of that, heres what I have started building last weekend and
would like to show you all my new track.
Itıs the third roller track I have made and is by far the best in many
regards. Very strong, efficient, silent and can not see any way for this
track to come off.
The track is based on the Sheridan but just beefed up. I made the drive
sprocket larger than it should so I could make the guide teeth even longer
for increased madness.
Have already started on the suspension and drive and road wheels but they
need a bit more work before can reveal them but am so looking forward to
this new tank.
The width of the track is just over 3 inchs, the rubber blocks are 15mm
thick by 1 inch wide and the roadwheels have been ground down to 3 inches.
All other measurements are up in the air atm till I work out what the body
will be as I doubt I will try to copy the Sheridan as is due to its
floatation crap, will probably base the body more on the Leclerc.
Anyways enjoy, this is just a temp web page up for a few weeks.
