Read the rules.

maximum hits for any armor thickness = 4
maximum magazine for any weapon size = 40

Your logic is flawed.  Requiring 1/6 scale would reduce variety.

Most of our tanks currently weigh over 100 pounds and require 
at least two people to load them into cars or SUVs or trailers.
We would need jib cranes to handle 1/6 scale monster vehicles.

bottom line

Build a vehicle.  Participate in a battle.  Have fun.

Then worry about the rules.
