I use the same kind of cheapo compressor in the gun system of my big tank. It hardly reaches 7 bar / 100 PSI. The pressure switch in my system is set to 1 bar, that's more than enough to fire foam missiles. I've tested the max press once, it did not go over 8 bar.
When you stop the compressor at 6 bar it doesn't have enough power to start up again against the pressure.
