>"here is an idea for a 2 speed mag style control" Matthew, I find servo based speed controllers seem like a good idea (and cheep) but I think you`ll find rather hard to build and maintain,If your confident you can build your 2 speed mag esc then go for it,but servos get jumpy, just when you dont want then to, The other point to make is the torque at 12v will be lower than at 24v not just the speed. not trying to put you off, just want to point out the pit falls. here is an idea for a 2 speed mag style
control
the F1 and R1 switches can be used to operate the
mag relays as normal and the F2 and R2 switches can control a relay that
switches the motor supply for each motor between 12 and 24v.
2 of these are still needed one for each motor
also if you have a transmitter with built in mixing
you can use it on one joystick as with the tri-pact control
