This is very true if you drive on dry soil
after the oil.... I am just trying to prevent water and mud to get close to the
pivots as much as possible..

WHat I do before driving through ponds of water or snow, is I give the tracks a good bath with thick lub oil for car's engine, hoping that it will reach the hinges's pivots inside and somehow protect them from friction caused by mud. Indeed, after this bath, they are trully quiet and smooth. The oil is also dripping over teh suspensions and gives an overall realistic finish.....but think of all the extra new dirt your going to be attracting that wasn't there before the oil, besides, I would think the tracks should have a squeak to them Chris Odyssey Slipways |
