Odyssey Slipways Indeed, I for one was updating the smaller tankette, to receive flaps/
mudguards/ fenders/skirts for muddy soil and ponds of water for the winter to
come. It looks like a fictitious Wiesel from the 1930s.
Only an aluminium deck for the upper hull, with straps of 1 mm thick
aluminium for teh fenders. She is supposed be water proof . See
images 3 and 7: I raised a water proof wall just behind the slots for the
idlers' axles. That created a water proof compartment that can be filled with a
water and overflown again via the idlers' slits. No need for duct tape to
(partially) seal the idlers' slots anymore. The front, raised, outlet
ventilates the speed control. The little "driver's slit" or visors is the actual
air inlet for the cooling fans over the motors. Upgraded
wIth the new DeWalts 18 V, (speed of 500 RPM as compared to the old, 400 RPM),
drive wheels with a dia. of 7 cms, 8 kgrs lighter than my 'Ha-GO',
this tankette is made for stunts and has both great torque and speed. Also,
this hull is to be used temporarily as a target for the larger tank.
Note the new, suspension plates (freshly painted ), a return roller, and a
larger front wheel that gives even teh smallest tank a mean, aggressive
appearance. All painted with matt olive spray for graffiti. The bracket on teh
roof is for a 1:6 machine gun, that I don;t think is going to be mounted on when
crossing and full skidding into ponds of water.....
