I was able to get most of my stuff from my own inventory of robot parts,
cannibalizing old robots, and used stuff from other robot folks or online.
Tracks, used in an old robot - $35
Scooter motors, gotten for a bot that never got built - $35
Vantec 36V X 60A X 2 channel ESC, used in an old robot - free
Gyros, two off my shelves and purchase one - $100
Accelerometer, cannibalized from an old bot - free
Frame materials, out of my scrap bins - free
Drive train mechanical parts, mcmaster purchase - $160
Turret gearmotors and servos, out of old bots - free
Marker, not sure what I'll do for this yet - ?
BasicATOM microcontroller and carrier board, bought new - $120?
Radio gear, off my shelves - free
4 18V 3.6 AH NiCd packs, of shelf - free
So the total there is $450. Not super-expensive, but for someone building from
ground zero, the price would likely be in the thousands.
That's a really cool robot in the video. The aiming looked good, but possibly hard
to aim on the move. The drive train has enough torque to turn in place and most
likely climb over obstacles but isn't that fast. That bot is definitely nothing to
sneeze at, I say "well done" to its builder.

I thought this one also has very effective gun and aiming capabilities . Full gun
control. DOn't know about cross country driving capabilities ... How do you robot
people do all that? Is it only a matter of money to put on equipment?

The tracks are too short for being rctankcombat legal, but that is not the intention
of this project. What I'm trying to do here is make a prototype for a machine with
similar capabilities to a soldier on a (REAL)battlefield. The prototype will use a
paitball marker on a gyro-stabilized turret. ..........
