Perhaps I was being a little hard on them. I tired a few experiments this morning and on the flat it will zip along at jogging speed- 6-7 mph. Come to a slight incline and it slows down a lot. The best way to ride it is to push it along like a regular scooter and let the motor assist you. What I meant to say is that they are not a serious form of transport, compared to say a bike, but they are quite fun, and faster than walking if it is dead flat.

I had to go down the butcher's today (1/2 mile). Thought about taking the scooter, but not wanting to look a tit used a bike instead.

The batteries show no sign of running out though various family members have ridden them- probably 1/2 hour in total on one of them.

I opened one up and the motor reverses perfectly. The thing seems very well built and there are lots of useable bits- sealed batteries, motor, bearings, wiring, front wheel (6" with bearings, I think- for future projects), bowden cable, fuse, switch, as well as the motor- even a dear little kick stand (with a useful-looking spring). Only snag- they should have had a spare drive belt, but didn't. I have e-mailed the company for this as I intend to use the drive belts and spares would be useful.

I'm confident that it will be fine for the tank as you say. Weight is less than I expected but can't give you a wieght for the batteries and motors until ~I've taken it to bits. At the moment I'm working on tracks.

Cost for both including postage was about £92 (you get a big discount on a 2nd item). Arrived in 3-4 days. The company is German with a UK distribution base so the invoice is in German and euros, but I can manage that.

I have to say that you are getting an awful lot for £35 + postage and I think they must be getting rid of them at practically cost. I've seen 120W scooters advertised at around £50 + postage, and 250W ones at a lot more, but I think this will do me.

Slower than walking?
Have you charged the batteries fully?
They might need a few charges and discharges before they reach full capacity.
Do they reverse?
What was the cost after shipping?
I think that if one motor can move an adult
then two should move a 1/6th Hetzer.
I`m gonna be on your back, for a while here Phil,But its your own fault for doing
something that interests me.
