Thanks to all who replied. Oil and slowish! I do have a drill stand and have made a jig for the bolts to sit in.
I might also put the bolts in the freezer first for a few hours!
I ahve ordered my motors- I've gone with the scooters. This way I can play with them before making them into a tank ;)

It depends on the diameter of the drill bit, the smaller the diameter the higher the speed. A 1/8" drill will cut better at a much, much higher speed than a 3/8" bit.
Be sure to use cutting oil to prevent the drill bit from overheating.
