Title: Re: speed controllers [TANKS]
I have used the scorpion xl on a 12lb robot, and based on my experiences I would not use it on a tank of any size for drive, i can see using it for a turret. Sadly, based on my experiences with both the scorpion Xl and Robot Power I will not use any of their products again.

Fair enough, know what it feels like to be disappointed in electronics and magic smoke.
For a turret, yes its probably best suited to that application rather than for drive.

To be fair to the product, your experience is based on a 12pound robot. Thatıs 5.4 Kg.

My experience is I have been using it on a small 20 kg steel tank without any issues.
Running 100 watt scooter motors with a reduction of  2.7 : 1  giving an rpm of 850 at 24volts.
Motors are rated at 6 amps so it does it really easy, I can push furniture around with it.
