I never took the cover off after the first run.  The problem is that if indeed metal 
did cause the problem, it came in from the outside, through the opening where the 
wires attach to the board.  I have run ESC's in rock crawlers that have flipped over 
20 times down a hill of rocks and this $320 paperweight broke after 20 minutes of 
light use from a problem I could not foresee or probably even correct.  Needless to 
say, I'm a little disappointed in the lack of service or even third party support 
for this product  As well as losing the controller, I lost my $50 receiver and 
probably another $20 receiver.  I can understand if I welded some parts next to it 
while the cover was off of if I didn't maintain a clean shop, but I took the usual 
precautions and lost a bunch of time and money.  I suggest another product if 
possible, I wouldn't recommend this one at all.
