fiberglass questions [TANKS]

Ok, more construction planning questions.

 

I’m thinking about using molded fiberglass for the turret and upper hull. I’d build a plug, make a mold, and start making parts. I’ve never done any fiberglass before. Is this a bad idea ?

 

If I use decent quality cloth and epoxy, how thick should I plan to make the turret and hull so they’ll be sturdy ?
