okay, you know how i have been looking for some sizes of parts of the Tiger
off and on (in and out of the group) for this Tiger.
all this time I have assumed (very wrong word and i was just as wrong all
this time) that Brian's tank here was 1:6th scale. all this time, i never took
the time to go measure the tank.
until now.
earlier today, i drew a 5.25" dia circle for the road wheel and took it out
to the tiger in the garage and placed it next to it. it just seems too big. so i
looked in the Tiger book with the spec's and rescaled it and it came out to
5.25" again.
so just a little while ago, i decided to go out and measure how long it was
as it just didn't seem to look right or some drawings scale out to match
it.
i figured the Tiger's hull should be just over 39" long. i measures the
tank and looked at the measurement i had written down as to what it should be. i
took out the take and measured it again. the tank is measuring just over 34"
long, the tank is just a hair over 1:7th scale.
so now i am no longer looking for 5" wheels, but
4.5"............................
I don't know why i always thought this tank was 1:6th scale
...........
now to begin my new search................ (i was going to get 5" shopping
cart wheels too)
