So Neil, what is the weight of your
vehicle? We know you are using two 24 V drills. I am
asking because my next project will weigh about 30 kgrs and will run on two 18 V
drills. I am not certain how the drills will cope with this weight. I might
eventually switch to a smaller drive wheel, with a dia. of 82 mms, to
increase torque.The speed will be 5 - 5,5 kms/h with 18 V and 350 rpm. With
the larger wheel of 93 mms dia., the speed will be 6 - 6,160 kms/h. I might
construct both drive wheels that I'll be able to change as desired, for speed or
for stunts on slopes and obstacles. They are good speeds for the scale. I guess
I could use 24 V as Joe advised , however I don't want to wear out the brushes
of the 18V DeWalt drills. They are trully good quality drills to fool around
with them!
Kindly let us know if you have used fuses and the
amph capacity of your batteries?
