I did some math when researching this
tank. 8:1 scale puts the ride height at about 2 –
2.5 inches. Bogies are spaced about 5 inches apart. That means you can emulate
the real tank’s suspension. They drop the front to depress the gun. To
elevate they drop the rear instead. That works out to just under
10 degrees of elevation J Using a bell crank to rotate the suspension
arms may maintain track tension where retracting them would make the tracks
slack. - Martin -----Original Message----- I considered this quite seriously, but in the end went
for a Hetzer as it is simpler. I found the idea of doing the suspension quite intriguing. If you mounted the tops of the suspension onto a
square frame, running along each side of the tank and along the front and
back, then you could fit an elevating mechanism at the front and
"elevate" the suspension. For extra coolness you could fit one at the
back as well so you would lower the whole tank as per the original. On Sat, 2 Jun 2007 20:38:23 -0400 "David Beazley" <dbeazley-at-mindspring.com> wrote:

Lot of discussion on it a few months back. I believe there is someone working on it. The only problem I see is the suspension elevation that the original has. And maybe fitting everything inside.
