Nice !!!

The controls on the Tx don’t seem too ergonomic for driving tanks, etc but running a standard 2-channel system for driving and this system for turret rotate/elevate and weapon trigger looks interesting …

There is a guy on eBAY,  e-madeinchn that sells 400MHz transmitter/receiver sets for low prices. I bought a 4 channel unit for $10~$12 and an 8 channel for $17~$20. They are ready to go with batteries for the transmitter already loaded. The receiver board has 12v/10amp relays for the output and the receiver is also powered by 12v. Both units I bought work like a charm.  You can also get combinations of momentary and latched outputs. For instance, the eight channel has 4 momentary and 4 latched. On my R/C Boats, this lets me latch the running lights and diesel engine sounds on and toggle the horn or siren. I just looked on eBAY and found his 4 channel with momentary action for $13.50 + $5S/H. It is supposed to have 200 meter range.

This might be a possible solution to a separate receiver in the turret.

When you have a new receiver, you have to bind the tx and rx …. Not sure if that will unbind the 1st rx.

At $80 a pop, I am not ready to get a second one just yet just to find that out. Once I have the tank running, I may do that later though.

I’m gonna try a keyless remote door lock system. If no one else is using that kind of hardware, I should be safe from frequency interference.

Thanks,

Martin

hi,

That’s very easy,

First you have to buy a second receiver, because your have a Spektrum DX-6 or -7, you need the same receiver as your first one, witch use the same channel (one of the 80) in the 2.4 band.

I’ve got a 35 MHz transmitter, with 2 35 MHz receivers, I only have to use 3 of the same crystals and then it works great. Now I use 35.160. I think that is one of the Advantage to work with crystals.

But before you buy a second one, you have to be sure that its work.

If you use 2 Receivers of 6 channels, then you have in total 6 channels!!!

How would you do that without a second transmitter if you are using a Spektrum DX-6 or -7?

While suffering several setbacks with my BT-7 chassis,  I've turned my attention to my turret.  While surfing for a cheap slip ring assembly, I found a link to a page showing ball bearings used as electrical contacts.  I immediately thought, what a simple solution to the "turret rotation" problem.  I've liberated four bearings from scrap motors at work and will share my results.
