Chris - not sure what Radio Shack trucks you're talking about. I haven't found much in the R/C truck world that would work for making a wheeled armored vehicle at 1/6 scale, unless you move up to the 1/6 or 1/5 scale monster trucks that cost over $1000. I did buy a Chinese-made toy, a 1/6 scale jeep-like vehicle called the JGSDF LAV. (JGSDF is Japanese military). Pretty cool-looking. It was only $65 bucks as I recall, but like I said, a toy. It has a real laser in the targeting pod, but no gun. Some of these toys have airsoft guns. I was thinking of using the body for a 4wd vehicle, since the modeling is very nice and detailed, but not sure its robust enough for paintball.

That's an interesting picture Chris. I agree with you about the Buffalo - it's ugly. So are most of the new mine-resistant vehicles like the Cougar that the Army is buying in 1000's now. The little bomb disposal tank is cool. There are apparently about 6,000 of these R/C vehicles like the Packbot being used for IED detection in Iraq right now.

i have two of them radio shack bomb disposal trucks that are 4 wheel drive with nice suspension. i have been thinking of making them into a 6 wheel transport of some sort - just don't know what they might be called (to search for).

found this - interesting, but too small in the body and just plain ugly (the tan truck in the back)

i tried looking for a picture of the r/c trucks i have but couldn't find one
