Joe, I will have to study your plans. I don't
understand them now, as I don't see the actual parts of the drills. It appears
that the head of the gearbox has not only one hole for screwing the chuck, but
also four smaller holes (????) I was thinking of having the axle made to a screw
at one end , that would screw directly into the gearbox (as in your Hetzer). See
in my attached exploded 3d sketches. With blue and red the drive wheels (dia.
0.106 m.), with white the axle as a screw on one end, (8.3 x 8.3 mm in the
square part that engages the drive wheels, dia. half an inch in teh round
part, smaller dia. on the screw part) and with yellow the drill's gearbox. That
would work for the motor that turns CW, but not for the other motor that will
turn CCW. The axle/screw (or screw/axle?) will simply come out.
My drive system is with little rods between a
"sandwich" drive wheel as in T-34s.
