i was thinking of using it to stick together pieces of carbon fiber to make a tank shell and chassis

You should be able to get fibreglass there.
When I fibreglass I use
a combination of chropstrand and mate.
there are lots of ways to make it stiffer.
But if you want stiff and flex it is a bit
different.but can be done.
