I found Technobots quite quick but a bit eccentic. I ordered by phone as the website didn't work. I ordered 2 battery boxes, as I wasn't sure which size 1 wanted. 4 turned up. Then another 2!
The little man is getting there. I have been doing a bit most evenings, but it's a case of drill something, puzzle, cut something, puzzle, then take it to bits and do it a different way. I should be able to get the feet on this w/end with any luck, then I might do a small video.
Sticking robots together in a triangle is an idea and I might come back to that if I can't get stability any other way but I don't think it would look as good as individuals. I would go for 4 models- 3 in a right-angled triangle and one that could go up and down to make up the square. Then one could use tank steering with left-hand and right hand pairs powered separately, the front ones with motors and the back one with a battery one side and radio the other.
That would make the feet easier to do..
No, i'll carry on as I am and see what happens.
My plan at present is a v simple robot, press a switch and he goes, press another and he fires, operated not by radio but by a "shepherd's crook". Actually thinking about it tactically I think static figures who could be moved around in a lorry or half-track might be more useful. Made of wood rather than "dollies". I have taken on board Frank (I think it was)' advice that it should be simple and strong as 1/6th tanks can be rough.
Not sure about throwing mechanism yet- still working on the legs.
Thanks for your interest. You seem to be busy! Personally I think the fiddling-about is fun.
