I cut out the actual plastic chassis panels on the table saw. The panels are 3/8" black ABS plastic, outside dimensions of the "coffin" core tank chassis is 24.75" X 18.75" X 7.625". I drilled and countersunk all the 5/16" holes for attaching the ABS panels to the 1" X 1" X .25" aluminum angle holding the whole chassis together. The batteries are held in place by more aluminum angle on the bottom chassis plate, and held down by the top chassis plate. I cut the holes for the transaxel bearings and installed the transaxel. It spins nice and freely, and I can put a lot of side load (standing on it) on the diff and shaft ends without it binding at all. There's just enough room for the motor and ESC between the batteries and the differential. Next I need to mount the motor and esc, then I'll be able to wire it up and try spinning the motor at full power! Also I'll be at the point to start experimenting with the brakes.
