I was looking at those motor, they usually come with #25 drive sprocket for
the chain. I have some of those already. they came off a scooter that go
15mph. I think it would be complicated to reduce the speed of the motor and
expensive. sprocket runs for around $10. what if I get a gear motor with a
speed of 100-300rpm. scale is not that important to me. it is my first tank
I am trying to build. I am concentrating on a lot of torque and traction. I
want to put wide tracks like the snow cat that they used in antarctica. I
plan to put it in some deep snow. I am expressing my thought here, so
members could tell me what might work and what won't. I didn't start buying
anything as yet. I already have six motor from a project that I am building
right now. I would take two motor out of that and turn it into a 4x4. does
it matter where I put the drive sprocket(front or rear). I am leaning
toward getting that conveyor chain from ebay since it already have to plate
attach to it.
