5-6" wide track might be out of proportion for a 2ft long tank depending on your model... one of the best way to get it right if to buy a plastic model of the thank you whant to scale up and do the math... there are calculators out there on the net to do scale to scale convertion and even do mesurement unit convertion at the same time...

my 1/6 Leclerc Tank I'm working on is suposed to have around 4.25" wide track for a 3.75ft long body... if you want it good looking, keep as close as possible to the original proportion, even if you don't get all the delails... ;)

And if you what to shoot paintballs with it you should make it 1/6 scale or you won't have much place to put it in the turret

hello my name is Simon and I am new to this list.  I am planning on building
a 2ft long tank.  I was doing a lot of research.  I was planning on using
c2060 chain, double on each side and spot weld 5-6" track across the two
chain.  I have difficulty finding drive sprocket fot this size chain. I
found this conveyor chain on ebay

it is a #40 chain that require #40 sprocket. it have 1 1/2" top plate.  I
was thinking about attaching 3" top plate to the original top plate, but I
don't know how strong the original top plate is attach to the chain.  I am
also thinking about doubling this conveyor chain so I could attach a 5-6"
track.  thank you.
