Thank you, that's exactly what I needed to know. I have a friend in
Florida working on the tracking with me. He has been working on a
microcontroller-based system for handling the gyro stabilzation. It uses
a tiny 2-axis gyro sensor with analog outputs (not an RC gyro) running
directly into the microcontroller. The micro does the math (integration)
on the gyro's output and sends servo pulses to the esc and servo to keep
the gun steady. The sensor for that costs $60, that's for BOTH axis.
Sounds like more fun to develop our own system!

Have had limited sucess with this brand here in AUS, especially in
Australia, we normally chuck this brand electrics out and put in JR or
Futaba brand (Futaba is badly backed up here in AUS). I have personally
had three helios from this brand do stupid stuff while flying them and
know of several more.
