I wouldn't say "most" people use two receivers ... in fact, most people
simply run wires between the turret (if they have one) and the hull.
However, it is safe to say that most "people who like to spend too much
for a solution" use two receivers :-)

All of the wireless gamepads have some method for "training" the
receiver to respond to a given gamepad. So, in theory, you could train
two receivers to respond to the same gamepad, just like two receivers
for a stock R/C transmitter. Then, simply connect two C6Cs to the two
receivers and attach servos to the appropriate control channel on each C6C.
So, the open question is: Does this work in practice? Unfortunately, I
don't have two gamepads from the same manufacturer, so I can't test it
now. But maybe I can round up two similar receivers over the next
couple weeks and give it a try.
That said, isn't it a lot of work and expense to avoid running a couple
wires and some old-fashioned connectors?
