Hello all,

It's getting to be winter again here in PA which means it's time to start working on the tank again.  I'm at the point where I need to be worried about what motor controller and radio system to be using for my tank.  I'm building an 1:6 scale Abrams, which is a very large and heavy tank even though it's hardly 1/3 done.  I have two EV-X motors that I plan to run at 24V.  Where possible, I like to utilize homebrew solutions - both for cost savings and for the opportunity to learn something new.  I like the C6C and plan on going that route for the radio, but I'm kind of stuck on the motor controller.  I like the Anvilus controller, but I'm worried about the 30A limitation of the onboard relays.  Proportional control in an absolute must for my setup, so I know I can run offboard SSRs to achieve that with the Anvilus but then all that power has to flow through the H-bridge on the controller, which is limited to 30A.  Has anyone successfully run the Anvilus controller with EV-Warriors at 24V, or with the EV-X motors?  Will I risk burning out the relays/traces on the board with my EV-X motors?

The RS80D looks like a very nice controller, but the $300 price tag and the fact that I don't get to build it has me looking for other solutions.

What other motor controllers (that support PWM) are everyone using with their 24V, high amperage motors?

Thanks,

Jeremy
