Greetings all,

Update on the StuG; progress on the transmission, 13.2:1 reduction, wich is being made by a colleague of mine
who has a combined lathe & milling machine and gear cutting attachments for it at his disposal.
Up to now he has finished 8 of the 12 spurgears, when those are finished he'll start on the housing, after I've
marked it up, which will be made out of 4
tensionless aluminium blocks per housing.

After that will come 2 double universal joints to join the gearbox to the motors: http://www.robotmarketplace.com/marketplace_dewalt.html the top ones with the pinions removed, which I removed with one of these: http://www.geocities.com/kevermotor/figuur4.jpg and I have no idea what it's called in english,
and
2 sets of brass mitergears for the 90 degree direction change. Could be changed to ordinary bevelgears if I need more reduction.

The first render shows how it should look like when finished, on the second you can see how the gears
will be arranged. You can see the 8th gear being cut on the foto's. The housing will be able to hold 40 ml of oil
but I will probably put in a bit less and add a venthole with an exhaust muffler: this http://www.grainger.com/images/products/1A326.JPG and not what you find on a car.

I've also bought a new 6-channel radio with mixing funtions because the 2-channel mixing circuit that I bought just didn't
want to work with my dad's radio, which is the only other radio we have with enough channels.

Also started on the tracks, only 20 pads to go, after that a lot of drilling, and bought the 18 mm multiplex for the lower hull and some other parts.
