I think, only think, that Reg needs slightly longer
screws (two bolts) so they are well engaged by the rods, even with loose tracks.
Loose, sagging tracks are sexy. Of course, with a loose track a rock that
will be caught inside the track has space to go through and around between the
track and the back (tensioning) wheel. You cannot do that with a tightly
tensioned track: It will jam there . A potential disaster.
Perhaps what is needed is a "dummy" of the Sherman star -type or toothed looking sprocket
with a system of rods inside that will engage the nuts, like in my
tank
Another advantage of the hinge track, if you
will, is that it is a completely closed type track, with no gaps between the
pads. No lIttle rocks or wood stick inside the pads. They squash everything!

Do you know whar size chain and bols he is using
??? This looks like it might work with the "Pin Drive", like was used
on the door hinge track....Hmmmmm Ever more considerations....
