Subject: Gene is building a tank! [TANKS]

Hi guys, my name is Gene Burbeck and I'm interested in building a tank. I've done lots of combat robot stuff and these rc tanks seem like they could be a nice change of pace.

The particular tank I'm building (I have actually started on some of the chassis and drivetrain parts) is a WWI Mark VIII Liberty. I chose this tank mainly for the challenge and the interesting look.

A few questions I have:

-What is a reasonable top speed for a tank, I have 15 HP to work with so unreasonable speed *would* be possible. However I'll need to gear low enough to make the battery last a long time. So, what do you guys think a good tank speed would be?

-The Liberty tank has TWO turrets, one on each side. I intend to recreate this using two paintball guns and carry a total of 30 paintballs. Does this comply with the rules? Note: only one turret can fire at a time.

-Finally, how long does my tank need to run on a charge?

I'm hopeing to come to the next battle in MD just to watch, learn, and meet people. Hope to see you all there!

Gene
