The question I was presenting was in a way, Where did tamiya get the design for the "finial-version" of there kit? That would include the flat sided gunners hatch on the turret, that's the one on the right top side of the turret. The late version looks as if the mold for the steel hatch was made with a router around its outside edges. Whereas the "finial version" was simply trimmed off on angles around its outside edges. This final version is the one that I cannot find any photo reference. Did they actually use it on the tiger at the end of the war? How many? The reason of my question is that when it comes to the details on my tiger, they are going to be around the mid version with the late periscope canopy.  I have found photos of these tigers. Even still with the early solid road wheels on them. I must say though, the gunners hatch with flat sides was probably easier to make then the early one. So, if anyone could help me out in would be greatly appreciated. Tom in Tenn.
