There's a "5' rule" but in practice its a "please resist the urge to pull the
trigger repeatedly after your barrel has plunged into my hull rule"
Just kidding - but shots within a few feet aren't unheard of. Interesting tidbit --
paintball goggles aren't even rated for point blank shots.
