I think the 1/6th scale is a minimum scale size, and that if you want to you can scale the tank up a bit (it'll also help with room inside)

Hello all.

Quite sometime now, I've perused your website and truly admired your work in R/C Combat tanks. absolute wonderful stuff, indeed! A long time lover of AFVs I always dreamed of constructing a large tank of choice but alas was constrained to the 1/35th scale of whih I built for IPMS competition.I'm used to scratch construction and building from 3-views in my 1/4 scale r/c aircraft but what you do as exhibited here is so more challenging. Although I may have bitten off more than I can chew I'm wanting to give it a go.

My intro:

Name: Monty Parsons
Age: 55
Residence: Tennessee
Occupation: Radiololgy/MRI

I've acquired the gear/motors from a "kiddie car" rated for 100# weight carrying in excellent condition. My initial choice for construction is a Skoda Pz.Kpfw.38(t) . Having the same suspension as the 38t Hetzer the road wheels et al should minimize my pain somewhat. One question I have is what scale is appropriate for this vehicle? being of such small size in real life, a mere 15ft in length, it seems a 1/6 scale would be dwarfed. My second question is about the proportional drive system outlined in your "How To" articles. Well written, but I'm a bit unfamiliar in the electronics department especially when constructing it oneself. are there any tutorials on this for those with elemental electronic knowledge of schematics and such?

again, glad to be a part of this and hope my efforts will prove fruitful.
