No no.  Don’t misunderstand.  You cannot trip it directly but the circuit is powered by a 9v meaning that’s all the power there is available.  A 9V battery can’t supply very much current even for just momentary needs (like a solenoid) so that means the solenoid they are using can’t be that strong but it still does the job of tripping the seer.  This means if you wanted to remove the trigger and trip the seer directly you might look at how they did it and find a solenoid close in characteristics to what they used.

You cannot trip an e-frame solenoid directly from a 9volt (or 12v) battery.  I've tried.  You must keep the circuit board located in the handle of the e-frame.  Joe Sommer sells a trigger circuit that interfaces a generic e-frame to an Rx.

Find good pictures of any of the $70 to $200 Spyder to see a seer tripping solenoid.  They trip it from a 9 V battery so it doesn’t have to be that beefy a solenoid.

Is the trigger really necessary? Can it done away with and use a solenoid in it's place somehow?

or was this talked about while i wasn't looking (close enough)
