Google found this: http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/7898/elefant.htm

The Ferdinand / Elefant was derived from the Tiger (P), aka Typ 101
(Porsche prototype for the Pzkpfw.VI, had a hybrid gas-electric drive
system and "drooping" fenders). It had an *external* torsion bar
suspension. Road wheels were paired, and each pair shared a torsion bar.
I don't know what it looks like, but I'd guess it's a cross between
the Pzkpfw.IV (double-bogie with external leaf spring) and Tiger Ausf.E
(internal torsion bar).

Great pictures of the Tiger Ausf.E suspension can be found here:
http://tiger1.info/EN/TorsionBars.html

I have pictures of the Pzkpfw.IV here:
http://delic.awger.net/tanks/pics/Pzkpfw.IV/

I'll try to remember to take pictures of the Elefant the next time I'm
at Aberdeen.
