Master Tyng,
---Director's commentary on---
These shorts depict the duality of
hobby.
The scratch builder is tempted by finished
commercial goods which, out of the box, can run circles around and over
labors of love in progress. In the final scenes we witness the
creation come to life, overcoming the literal and figurative
hurdles.
I thought it was obvious. I
think the message will be much clearer once my CGI department
superimposes the yellow H2 over that block of wood under the crushing weight of
the tank. I didn't want to spoon feed the message by using a voice
over, not to mention Morgan Freeman wasn't available. So far critics have reacted to the face value, "footage is cool"
but I'm hopeful it will become a classic.
---bullsh... err... Director's commentary
off---
Uh, I just wanted to show off my shiny new
toy and maybe others who aren't able/willing to build a tank can get in to the
hobby a little easier.
