I agree. I don't think posting the link here was in poor taste. I hope I
didn't cause this negative attitude with my immediate reply to your posting.
That was not my intention. It's a reality that to love tanks is to love a
war machine and or the men who served in them.

The following is my opinion, and is not directed towards any single
person or comment, other than the general sentiment that posting the
pictures might have been a mistake (a sentiment that was even put
forward by the original poster). I am not trying to start a flame war,
just hoping to put forward another point of view. Please do not be
offended if your view differs.

I don't think it was a mistake to post those pictures. Sure, our hobby
is for fun, but IMO we shouldn't forget that the roots of our hobby are
vehicles designed for war fighting.

Forgetting or actively ignoring the men and women who fought, bled and
died in the past and who are doing so today to protect and spread the
freedoms that we enjoy is something I consider to be a grave injustice.
I hope the men in that Abrams fared better than it looks like they did.

I think that post was completely on topic and appropriate. Not only was
it relevant to our topic, you provided ample warning that some might
find the subject matter distasteful - and to top it off, all you
provided was a link rather than including the pics right in the message.
